Proceeds from the Luncheon to Benefit The Children’s Place
WHAT: The Angels of The Children’s Place Fifth Annual Luncheon benefiting
The Children’s Place. The Children’s Place is a nonprofit organization
devoted to promoting positive mental health and development outcomes
through prevention, treatment and family support for young children who
have experienced abuse, neglect or other trauma. The agency provides
day treatment and outpatient services to children ranging in age from six
weeks to eight years. The Children’s Place is one of the Kansas City
area’s premiere single-source providers of services and programs that
help optimize the growth and development of young children. Last year,
the luncheon raised $75,000 directly supporting the agency’s early
intervention services for traumatized young children.
WHO: New York Times bestselling authors, Richard and Linda Eyre,
well-known experts on parenting and life balance, are the
keynote speakers for this year’s luncheon. The Eyres currently have 25
books in print and are known for their advocacy of strong families and
balanced lifestyles. They have just completed two highly successful
around-the-world speaking tours, and their book, “Teaching Your
Children Values,” reached number one on the New York Times bestseller
list. The Eyres make regular appearances on national television shows such
as Oprah, Prime Time Live, CBS This Morning and The Today Show.

The Children’s Place is a nonprofit organization established in 1978 to address the physical and emotional impact of violence, abuse and neglect on children in metropolitan Kansas City. The Children’s Place specializes in the complex treatment of children ages 6 weeks to 8, offering day treatment and outpatient services for children, foster/adoptive family trainings and assessment, and family support groups and counseling.
