Near and Far The Children’s Place Staff Share Their Expertise

Over the past year, the specialized, unique work of The Children’s Place’s has been highlighted at the local, national and international level.  As recognized experts in the field of working with young traumatized children, staff members have been invited to present at professional conferences.

In her 13 years on staff at The Children’s Place, Linda Dodds, Director of Early Childhood Education, had developed a wealth of knowledge on brain development, trauma issues and children’s development.  Her understanding of these issues combined with her years of experience working with young, traumatized children at The Children's Place gives her an expertise that makes her a sought after presenter.

Most recently she presented “Trauma and the Brain Body Response … Bringing Science Into the Playroom” at the International Conference on Violence, Abuse and Trauma (San Diego CA, September 2006), and "Brain Gym 101 - Educational Kinesiology - a Holistic Approach for Clients and Staff" at the National Drug Court Conference (Seattle WA in June).
