A Bi-State Effort to Prevent Child Abuse

Since 2002, The Kansas City Child Abuse Roundtable Coalition, a group of advocates and elected officials, has joined together to promote awareness of child abuse and the prevention, training and treatment services available in the greater Kansas City metropolitan area. Over 30 community agencies have brought needed attention to this important issue through cooperation and educational opportunities for adults and children. In 2006, the group expanded to become a bi-state effort.

What Can You Do?

Wear Blue Day
On April 18, 2008, Kansas Citians banned together to wear blue as a visible commitment to support child abuse prevention month. Together with friends, neighbors and co-workers each of the 8,632 individuals represented to the right pledged to make a difference by wearing blue.

Attend Community Events
The Roundtable Coalition will again produce a calendar of events for Child Abuse Prevention Month. Click here to view the calendar that was published in The Kansas City Star on Monday, March 31, 2008.
