April is Child Abuse Prevention Month
Since 2002, The Kansas City Child Abuse Roundtable Coalition, a group of advocates and elected officials, has joined together to promote awareness of child abuse and the prevention, training and treatment services available in the greater Kansas City metropolitan area. Over 30 community agencies have brought needed attention to this important issue through cooperation and educational opportunities for adults and children. In 2006, the group expanded to become a bi-state effort.
Join child advocates nationwide and "Wear Blue" on Friday, April 15, 2011. Hundreds of businesses, churches, schools, civic organizations, government and nonprofit organizations metro-wide will "Wear Blue" to help prevent child abuse.
Help us reach our goal of 20,000 participants this year! Wearing blue on April 15th is an important way to support the Kansas City effort to prevent child abuse and it doesn't cost a cent!
