It was a heartwarming evening for all the old and new supporters of TCP who recently filled Lauri and Brud Jones' home for the Angels’ annual membership event. Jim Carmody, Kansas City police officer and SWAT team member, and his wife Cindi shared the story of how they came to adopt their young son Caleb. Caleb, born to a drug addicted mother, had endured a lot of hurt before coming to TCP’s Day Treatment Services program. There was much laughter and a few tears as Jim told the touching story of fostering and then adopting their young son and what a difference TCP has made in all of their lives. It was good news for everyone to hear that Caleb is now happily enrolled in kindergarten at a local school. And though Caleb wasn’t there, everyone felt the presence of a very special little boy through his parents’ heartfelt story.
