New Director of Early Childhood Education

The Children’s Place is pleased to welcome new Director of Early Childhood Education, Jill Koertner.  Jill, a board certified behavior analyst with a Masters Degree from the University of Kansas in Applied Behavioral Science, brings 13 years of diverse clinical experience with children and families to the agency.

Jill has an extensive background working with children with developmental disabilities and behavior issues, particularly students with autism.  Jill’s experiences include working in the United States and overseas with families and therapeutic teams in the home, with students and teachers in school settings, parent training, and staff training.

Jill’s interest in volunteerism began during her years with full-time volunteer organizations Americorps and VISTA.  She notes with great respect the strength of The Children’s Place volunteer program, both in terms of the number of volunteer hours and the longevity of service of so many of the agency’s volunteers.

Since coming to The Children’s Place, Jill has been impressed with the dedicated staff in the Day Treatment Services program, observing how much caring and compassion they have for the children.  Jill is looking forward to being a part of an organization so clearly committed to bettering the lives of these remarkable children.
